Here you can configure application settings:

Strings will be displayed briefly on the screen. Strings are a combination of alphabetical and/or numerical characters.

After a while, a mark (cue, signal) will be displayed to show which strings you need to memorize.

After the delay period, the answer entry panel will appear where you need to enter these strings.

You do not have to remember the position of strings, ie the order of entries of the required strings is irrelevant.

You can go back to the previous item and correct the previously entered values. However, you cannot re-display previously displayed strings.

As the demo mode is on, the correct solution will be displayed in each task.

Maximize a window (page) before starting the task. You must not resize the screen during the task.

Time resolution:

Frame rate is produced by a combination of your graphics card and your processor, so it is essentially the number of frames a system is able to produce in a second, whereas refresh rate is the rate at which a monitor is able to completely refresh its display.

The measured values are based on a DOMHighResTimeStamp high-precision timer that is (in theory) more accurate than 1ms (millisecond).

Limitations:

Security threats. To offer protection against timing attacks and fingerprinting, the precision of time stamps might get rounded depending on browser settings.

Frame rate. Frame rate (expressed in frames per second or FPS) is the frequency at which consecutive images (frames) are captured or displayed. More information: here. The minimum stimulus display time (as well as the value of the iteration step) is the same as the time required to refresh the screen. The higher the refresh rate of the used OS (browser), this time is less.

Real times are probably slightly higher than the values entered because all measured times need to be added hardware (and OS, Browser) delay time.

However, if this task is run under controlled conditions, this delay is constant within all measurements. Therefore, do not minimize the browser during the task. For the same reason, it is not allowed to resize the screen during the execution of the task.

Select a variable: You vary the time between the end of strings display and the start of marker display indicating which strings the user should remember

Number of iterations for each variable value:Total number of items = (number of iterations) * (number of entered valid values for the selected variable)

String time. Alphanumerical stimulus (digits or letters) display time (ms):Here you need to enter strings stimulus (digits or letters) display time. Duplicates will be deleted. Invalid values will be deleted. If all values in the list are invalid, default value = 100. Note: if the Marks delay = 0, then the duration of the marks is longer and is calculated as follows: Marks time = Marks time + String time.

Marks time (ms):Enter the values for the duration (display time) of the marks (cue, signal) here, ie enter the time interval in which the marks are displayed. Enter only one integer value in the range of 10-5000 per line. Units are milliseconds. Do not enter units. Invalid values will be deleted. Duplicates will be deleted. If all values in the list are invalid, default value = 100. Note: if the Marks delay = 0, then the duration of the marks is longer and is calculated as follows: Marks time = Marks time + String time. Or, if Marks delay = 0, then the total display time of marks is increased by String time.

Delay time before show each stimulus (ms):Stimuli are prepared during this period. So leave this period longer, especially for very short stimulus displays.

Type of alphanumeric characters: Only within the same row are alphanumerical different. This does not apply to digits. It is always possible to repeat the same alphanumerical in different rows.

Type of marking (cue, signal): Warning: don't use Filled rectangle or Filled circle if any Marks delay time = 0.

Enable backward - display the button for the previous item:No. Returning to previous items is not allowed.

Missing values are allowed:Missing values are allowed. The user does not have to enter a value. For next item: press ENTER key or "Right Arrow" button.
